IN1Case makes futuristic multi-tool utility case for the iPhone 5 /5s. Opening the case in the SERIOUS WONDER office was really easy. Usually you need a chainsaw to get the plastic packaging open, but the IN1 packaging was minimal, and the plastic around the case opened without much effort.
When I saw how many tools it contained I was really impressed. 2 precision screwdrivers, 2 ball point pens (one with blue ink and one with red ink), nail file, tweezers, scissors and a kick stand for the phone.
The pens are great for traveling writers. I would like to see the blue ink replaced with black and the pen tube could use a bit more girth to make it easier to hold, but the they both work surprisingly well.
The screwdrivers are good for Google Glass or small gadget emergencies. The nail file (yes I tried it) could be a bit grainier, but it does the job. The tweezers are good, but the ends are blunt and could take some inspiration from the Tweezerman design. But, for the rogue hair it does the trick.
I like the design of the scissors. I tested them on paper, and they worked beautifully. The case also includes a toothpick, although I am not sure how I feel about using it and putting it back in the case. However, in a pinch we do what we must. Spinach and sesame seeds be damned!
The kickstand works well for landscape mode. It allows me to use my phone as a second screen. The IN1 Case is really unique. I would love to see it evolve to include a match or a tiny rolled up 2”x2” screen cleaning cloth.
Getting the phone into the IN1 case is effortless and it doesn’t scratch your phone like other cases. You just remove the bottom section and gently slide the phone into place.
The future is all about convenience, and the IN1 case is convenient indeed. It is also a great conversation starter at parties. MacGiver would love this case and so do I. The price for the case is $44.95, and you can get one to impress your friends HERE.
